Mike Smullen
With more than 25 years of experience on Capitol Hill – including 13 years as chief of staff to a senior member of the House Energy & Commerce Committee — Mike has a deep understanding of public policy, the politics that drive it, and longstanding relationships across the Capitol and across the aisle.
Mike served as Chief of Staff to three members of the Ohio Congressional delegation, most recently for Representative Bill Johnson who chaired the House Energy & Commerce Committee’s Environment, Manufacturing and Critical Materials Subcommittee.
Mike has a proven record of results. He has successfully shepherded legislation into law, advised on eight successful Congressional campaigns and cultivated relationships within the various groups in the House Republican Conference and across the aisle via the Problem Solvers Caucus.
He holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Cincinnati and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from George Mason University.
Mike and his wife Dana have two children- a daughter at Bishop Ireton High School, and a son at St. Rita School. He enjoys coaching Little League baseball, rooting for the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds, and the occasional round of golf.
